Year 4 visited Durham Light Infantry Museum as part of their World War 1 project.  When they arrived they were met by a member of staff, who put them through a drill and marched them into the museum.  Inside, the museum was set out like trenches so you could experience what it must have been like inside them.  The children all took part in a workshop which involved looking at a census and information to discover how and when some soldiers had died or survived the war, also if they had been awarded medals.  Finally the children all put on a pair of gloves and were able to pick up and look at lots of artefacts from the war.
