This week Year 6 took a trip to Safety Works Interactive Safety Centre in Newcastle to learn about staying safe in various everyday situations. They visited the police station and cells, the hospital, Metro station, supermarket and road crossing and spent time in the house, learning about how most accidents actually happen at home. Members of the emergency services taught the children how to make a 999 call and how to perform emergency first aid. It was a fascinating and very useful day out.
