This half term, we are taking part in a whole-school project. Our learning is based around a painting called ‘A Triumph over Rome’ by Peter Paul Rubens.
We are going to recreate the painting as a class, using sketching and collage. Each of us sketched a different object in the painting, using short, light strokes and different hardness of pencils to show shadow and tone. We enjoyed holding a mini exhibit in the classroom, where we all walked around and look at each other’s finished artwork.
Next week we will stick all of our sketches together to recreate the painting. We look forward to displaying our artwork in school.
