Year 5 had two visitors this week, a Norman knight named Clovis and an Anglo-Saxon baron called Elgfrith. We learnt all about their Armour and how much it cost, which turned out to be lots! We also learnt about how they fought and lived. We then designed our very own shields and made our own Bayeux Tapestry. We also found out that the Geordie dialect is one of the oldest dialects in the country and is a mixture of Norman, Anglo-Saxon and a few others.

We had a fabulous time with Clovis and Elgfrith and will remember this day for a very long time.knight
