This week marks the 15th anniversary of the European Day of Languages (26th of September) and St. Aidan’s have undoubtedly been participating in a language extravaganza. We were lucky enough in Years three and four to start a video conversation with our Italian counterparts. The children from Thiene (North of Italy, Veneto region) are a wonderful group of young Italian learners and as we start our year of linked Italian/English communication we look forward to creating new friendships that will last over a long period of time.
Also, this week we had an Italian visitor in year four, Roberto from Padua. He came to talk to us all about the Italian way of life… he didn’t disappoint! Our year four children were budding with interesting question, some of which had Roberto stumped. However, he left St. Aidan’s telling Mr Dunnigan how wonderful and engaging our children were when it came to learning Italian.
Ciao for now, from Year 4!
