Last week marked the 10th anniversary of the end of the bloodiest battle of the first World War, the battle of the Somme. Yesterday St. Aidan’s remembered the thousands of fallen soldiers who gave their lives to protect us. Every class wrote a prayer and made a poppy wreath. We also made wooden crosses just like those in the fields of remembrance in Saltwell park. Each class visited the Remembrance garden to reflect and pray. Here are some pictures of the day:
