As part of our cross-curricular topic, Year 4 have been researching ‘Christmas in Italy’. In this week’s lessons we’ve focused on the vocabulary commonly heard in Italy over the Christmas period. Moreover, we’ve investigated the story of ‘La Befana’ the good witch of Italy.

We were fortunate enough to have Mrs Dunnigan come and tell us the Italian Christmas story and how cultural differences can be found between our own country and that of our friends in Thiene. As Christmas draws nearer, we thought about our box being sent full of presents to the children in Thiene, Mr Dunnigan has been informed that the Italian children were videoed opening their presents. We look forward to seeing this in the near future. However, for now, please enjoy the video of our lesson on la Befana.
