What a busy week we have had in Nursery this week celebrating Science Week. On Monday, we enjoyed a trip to the Discovery Museum where we had great fun playing with water in the Tyne Water Play area. We explored different ways to move boats and other objects down the ‘Tyne’ by exploring the different ways in which the bridges moved. On Tuesday, we planted trees with the Woodland Trust in our forest school area. We can’t wait to watch them grow as we move up through school! On Wednesday we had great fun on a bug hunt, searching for different creepy crawlies. We found that bugs like to live in dark, damp places such as under the logs. We found lots of worms, slugs, centipedes and wood lice. On Thursday, we became engineers and investigated different ways we could build shapes and structures with dry spaghetti and marshmallows. It was very fiddly but we showed great perseverance and teamwork! On Friday, we enjoyed making bubbles and exploring how different objects with holes in could be used to make different size bubbles. We also planted cress seeds and sunflower seeds as we learnt the story of the Parable of the Sower. What a busy, fun-packed week we have had!
