On Tuesday 26th September, St Aidan’s commemorated European Languages Day with a whole-school assembly about the importance of language learning and the impact it can have on global cooperation and on our own futures.
As part of our European Languages week, each year group enjoyed a special Italian lesson from Mr Dunnigan in which we learned an Italian song to be performed for our Italian visitors this week. As a school, we also wrote letters to our Italian visitors informing them about St Aidan’s, our local area of Teams and the North-East of England. We are very hopeful that the Italian children will write back to us, answering our questions and telling us all about their homes in Italy! It is very exciting that through our new European links we can make new friendships and share our knowledge in order to learn together.
