Year 3 went to the Great North Museum today to find out more about their topic, Prehistory.
In the morning, Year 3 worked through a range of prehistoric activities. They used a literacy cube to research key vocabulary around the museum. They looked at the different layers of the ground and had to label each one by using historic vocabulary. They then used a prehistoric map and find out where particular artifacts were found. Finally they read the Stone Age Boy and completed a book review.
In the afternoon, the children were given the opportunity to ask questions about prehistory to an archaeologist.
Year 3 learnt so much and had a lot of fun!
