As part of this morning’s achievement assembly we were blessed with a performance from our resident choir ‘Only Girls Allowed.’ The hall was packed with parents, children and loved ones. After a tour of the local community and Metrocentre, amongst other venues, ‘Only Girls Allowed’ helped raise thousands of pounds for charity. Auditions have been opened for boys to join the choir so look out for new stars.

We were also introduced to the ‘Leading Lights’ who will take on the role of supporting Collective Worship in St Aidan’s, meeting with members of the Senior Leadership Team and RE Coordinator to discuss how we can take our religious studies further forward in school.

Members of Year 5 paid tribute to Sid Brunton who sadly passed away last week. Sid has attended and played an important part in our weekly chapel services, welcoming our children and always being a shining light. We ended our assembly by singing Sid’s favourite song,’Here I am, Lord.’
