Last week St Aidan’s celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Angel of the North by creating pieces of artwork inspired by the impressive structure. In preparation for our artwork, Year 2 visited the Angel of the North to look closely at its’ shape, size and colour. Then once back in the classroom we sketched and coloured the Angel using oil pastels. On Friday Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed exploring the whole-school exhibition of our artwork. We talked about the different media and techniques used by different year groups to represent the Angel and considered lots of questions closely linked to RE.
