During International week in Year 4 we have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the amazing South American nation of Brazil. Throughout the week we have researched and created our own sketch map of South America, to develop our understanding of the geographical position and size of the country. We then continued our investigation to look at important historical events which have taken place in Brazil. for example, their 5th World Cup title in 2002 and launching their first rocket into space. We then looked at the many different religions in Brazil, including Christianity, Islam and local religions such as Candomble and Umbanda. Finally, we finished our week creating our own art work inspired by the Brazilian Neo pop artist Romero Britto, who’s bright and colourful work reflects the vibrant and diverse nature of Brazil itself.
