As part of our Science topic Plants, Year 2 visited Durham Botanical Gardens.
We were greeted by a lady called Jenny who taught us all about lots of different weird and wonderful plants. We found out about the different parts of a plant and how seeds are dispersed in order for new plants to grow. We also learnt about what plants need to grow and how different plants have adapted to live in different habitats such as the rainforest and desert.
We were even lucky enough to plant our very own cherry seed in the woods. We can’t wait to see if a new cherry tree will grow!
