Today we visited Durham Botanical Gardens to learn more about different types of plants and how different seasons impact plant’s growth. We were able to see plants from many different habitats such as the desert and rain forest. We also learnt about what plants need to grow and how different plants have adapted to live in these different habitats. We saw cacti, aloe vera, lily pads, a monkey puzzle tree and many more beautiful plants. We also discussed the different animals that would be found among these plants in their habitats and we were lucky enough to see and hold a stick insect, watch a giant butterfly flutter past us and then we went bird watching.
