Year 6 played a leading role in the end of the school year’s eucharist supporting Reverend Meg with prayers, readings and news of their recent Archbishop of York Youth Trust Award.
During the eucharist Reverend Meg discussed new beginnings with the children and how at first transitions may be unsettling but everything works out at the end. This was linked to the story of Luke where Jesus calms a storm. In the story Jesus asked his disciples to believe in Him when their boat began to fill with water. Jesus commanded the wind and waves to stop. At the end everything was fine through the disciples trusting Jesus.
At the end of the eucharist, year 6 presented the work of their award where they had raised money by washing teachers’ cars to fund an afternoon tea for local residents.
