Our final assembly of the year was a celebration of the children who had 100% attendance. Mrs Steele explained that sometimes children may be absent during the year due to illness and this is unlucky for them but as a school we celebrate those children who have been able to attend school all of the time.
The first awards were given to children with 100% attendance for the Summer Term. They were rewarded with a 100% attendance badge and certificate.
The next awards were given to children with 100% attendance for the whole school year. They were rewarded with an enamel 100% attendance badge in the school colours and a certificate. One lucky child received £30 Metrocentre vouchers from a raffle of their names.
Finally, one year 6 child was rewarded with a framed picture and 10 tickets for Inflataspace in Newcastle. This boy had 100% attendance for his time from reception to year 6 in St Aidan’s, an achievement we are very proud of and a first for St Aidan’s.
At the end of the assembly one of our teachers was rewarded with a special badge. Mr Dunnigan was recently voted as best teacher in Gateshead, an honour which is fully deserved and inspiring for the whole of St Aidan’s. Thank you to everyone who voted for him. Well done Mr Dunnigan.
