Year 4 had great fun with the poet Ash Dickinson writing a Quatrain which is a four lined rhyming poem. They shared their poems with each other and were given advice on how to improve them. Ash explained one of his poems took him 11 years to write and edit until he was happy with it!

Ash introduced the children to a Haiku which is a Japanese style of poem with three lines comprising of 5, 7 then 5 syllables. Some children worked together to write:

Into outer space, Went the happy astronaut, He didn’t come back.
