This morning Year 2 visited the United Reform Synagogue in Kenton as part of their RE topic Judaism.
We were greeted by two lovely ladies who taught us lots about the Jewish synagogue and Jewish faith. They showed us the key features of a Jewish Synagogue including the Ark, Eternal Light and Bimah, and explained why Jewish people visit the synagogue. We were even lucky enough to look closely at the Torah scrolls and listen to the Hebrew language being read aloud! We then enjoyed listening to the Jewish Creation story, looking at artwork within the synagogue, and found out there are many similarities between the Jewish and Christian faith!
