During our final assembly of the year, Mrs Steele, Mrs Lain and Mrs Ruddy handed out attendance certificates to those children who had attended every session of the summer term. They then handed out certificates to children who did not have a single day off in the school year! Well done to all of those children.
Year 6 children had recently completed the Archbishop of York Award where they learned about key leadership skills, growing in character and having practical opportunities to volunteer and help others in their community. They received certificates and badges for their efforts and should be proud of themselves.
Mr Thorogood handed out certificates to children whose recording of maths problem solving skills on Number Day were acknowledged as being best in their class by teachers from the Kingsmeadow cluster of schools. Two children’s work was recognised as being the best out of all of the schools who took part!

Finally there was a thank you to Mrs Crawley who will be seconded to another Gateshead school for one year. We all appreciate how hard Mrs Crawley has worked during her time at St Aidan’s and know she will transfer these skills to her new school. Thank you for helping to make our school a special place.
There was also a sad farewell to Miss Heslop who will be moving schools. Miss Heslop has been at St Aidan’s for two years and has developed PE, receiving awards for all of her hard work. We wish her good luck in the future and hope she stays in contact with us.
