Year 1Miss Heslop and Mrs Lishman
Welcome to Year 1! Our teachers are Miss Heslop, Mrs Spoors and Mrs Lishman. In Year 1 we are learning about our local area. We will be able to identify human and physical features within Gateshead by taking a bird’s eye view on a trip to the Angel of the North. We will compare towns to the country side and will discuss how the human and physical features found in these places differ. In Design Technology we will be exploring different homes from all around the world to plan and build model homes. We will look at different structures such as igloos, castles, tree houses and caravans. We are very lucky as we are even going to visit some of these home types in a very magical setting. This will lead us on to a ‘home life in the past’ history topic in the second term. We will compare our lives now to those in the past. We will step back in time by visiting Beamish Museum. We have lots of exciting things to look forward to so please visit our page and see what we are up to.
