Year 3Mr Barrett and Miss Greenwell
We have had a fabulous start to the new term in Year 3! As a class, we have discussed the school values and added to them by coming up with a Year 3 commandment list so that it is always a safe and positive learning environment. In Maths we’ve been pushing ourselves to look at hundreds and the importance of place value by using base 10. In English we’ve been exploring the freezing chill of Iceland via our Norse legends book “Arthur and the golden rope”. In history we’ve gone back thousands of years to learn about the prehistoric times of the stone, bronze and Iron Age. This is being complemented in DT as we are designing our own prehistoric tools. In Geography we will be looking much more locally at the great fire of Gateshead. In RE we are learning about the wonders of God’s creation and how he managed to make this fabulous place we call earth. Finally, in science we are looking at what people and animals need to live and how their bodies are made up of complicated bone and muscle structures. We are very much looking forward to the new learning opportunities and exciting trips that this term will bring!
